The effects of music on our society are immense. Here in Rio everyone is singing. They know the words by heart and the private life of each artist. I am really impressed about their capacity of lyrics, etc.
The society is based on an oral exchange.

So I got a very interesting email about a podcast ‘Nuestra Familia Unida’ from the University of Texas, where Mark Pedelty talks about the musical ritual in Mexico City – starting with the Mesoamerican and ending with the mariachi.
