It got nothing to do with the summer, but since I have just installed the gallery’s plugin I think it is time to do it. The fotos were taken during Semana Santa – holy week (2007).
You mainly see the cultural group called ‘Tá na Rua’ who are doing theatre on the street.

AfroReggae and Urban Connections

Damian Platt used to be Brazil campaigner at Amnesty International and is now the coordinator for international partnerships at the cultural group AfroReggae.
This episode we will talk mainly of the ‘conexoes urbanas’ (urban connections, especially the last show with Marisa Monte). Next week we get his idea of music as a vehicle in a city/district and life in favelas.
