21st of June

The French Minister of Culture decided in 1982 to make a Day for Music. It became the 21st of June. Now it already spread into more than 50 countries.

If there is still nothing going on in your city go out on the 21st of June and play some music in the street. Animate passers-by to make some noise to wake up the good character of your city. If you are feeling unsure visit us on facebook.

Damian Platt used to be Brazil campaigner at Amnesty International and is now the coordinator for international partnerships at the cultural group AfroReggae.
This episode we will talk mainly of the ‘conexoes urbanas’ (urban connections, especially the last show with Marisa Monte). Next week we get his idea of music as a vehicle in a city/district and life in favelas.
